"20/20 Blake" in 3D
This area offers 3D image pairs of Blake's work and scenes from the live show "20/20 Blake". These are set up for "free-view", which is a technique to see stereo 3D without special glasses or software.
(1) Hold a pencil (vertically) about halfway between your eyes and the image pair on the screen, at a comfortable distance. (2) Focus on the pencil, gradually relaxing your eyes to look past the pencil to the screen. (3) You will see three blurry images behind the pencil. The middle image will be a mix of the left and the right. Focus your eyes gradually upon this center image; the other two will not go away but the center image should resolve into a crisp 3D scene. When you begin to see a stereo image, slowly drop the pencil from view.
The Other Method
We can't call this the Cross-Eyed Method -- it scares people. Once you know what you're looking for, however, it will snap right into place. Look at a pair of images and gently cross your eyes until you have two foggy sets of double images, side by side. It will look like this:
Now let your eyes relax back until the image sets overlap, effectively showing three images total.
Pay attention to the center image, ignoring the outer two. These outer images will not go away, but they will become unimportant as the center image resolves.
